Dancing into Awakeness!
A 5-Day Retreat of Dancing with the Land, Other and Self
October 23rd - 27th 2024
Retreat begins at 4pm on 10/23 and completes at 12pm on 10/27
Join us at Kipukamaluhia – a stunningly beautiful, unique, multicultural and intergenerational Dharma-Gaia Sanctuary in the heart of Ka'u, on the Big Island of Hawai'i -- for a five-day retreat of Dancing into Awakeness!
This retreat is an opportunity to gain a more intimate connection and relationship with the Earth, and to experience our interdependance with Mother Nature, each other, and ourselves! We will use conscious dance and movement meditation, energy-movement (aka energy-work), alchemy, and self-inquiry as portals to deepen into Presence and Awareness.
Conscious dance is a spontaneous and free-form type of dance. It is not a dance of looking good, but rather a somatic movement meditation practice for embodied awareness. Keri has been dancing Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms™ dance meditation for almost 15 years and is a former 5Rhythms Spaceholder for the Big Island of Hawai`i.
Keri will be setting up the journey and dancing on the journey with you as well. She has over 12 years of experience as a relational trauma talk therapist who integrates Access Consciousness Bars™ Energy-work, alchemy and energy-movement into her sessions with others. About Kipukamaluhia
Kipukamaluhia is very beautiful, expansive, inclusive and special off-grid eco-sanctuary and village. Located at an eco-tone (where two ecosystems meet), the energy here is potent and powerful. We have many medicinal herbs, plants, flowers and fruit trees for you to appreciate and enjoy. We live simply, without wifi and using only solar electricity. We have outdoor composting toilets and give our human waste directly back to Earth.
We are a substance-free community and ask that you do not bring any alcohol, marijuana, cigarettes, drugs or artificial fragrances or clothes that have been washed in artificially scented laundry detergent.
Some of us are very chemically sensitive! Please use only fragrance-free products on the land. Bring ONLY organic laundry soap, shampoo, hair rinse, deodorant, and body soap. Please do not bring candles or arrive with clothes that have been washed in artificially scented laundry detergent.

About the Retreat:
The retreat will include:
One hour every morning of silent and meditative ‘seva’ to maintain and beautify the land. This will mostly likely be gardening activities such as weeding, raking, mulching, pruning, moving rocks, etc. (Really, whatever the needs of the land are at the time you are visiting!)
Seva is a Punjabi word for selfless service performed without any thought of reward or personal benefit. Seva at Kipukamaluhia is our way of giving back to the land that provides us with so much beauty, sustenance and abundance!
Seva will be with Rashani Réa, devoted land steward and creatrix of Kipukamaluhia. To learn more about Rashani, visit: www.Rashani.com *Rashani is also offering a 20% discount of any her many books, journals, art prints and greeting cards while you are here.
*A $20 per day fee will apply if you do not wish to participate in seva.
5 two-hour conscious dance journeys and dance meditation sessions with Keri on our beautiful outdoor Kai Lanai dance deck, overlooking the Ocean and our neighbor’s horses.
One 50-minute transformational energy-movement & self-inquiry session with Keri & the option of additional sessions with either Keri or Rashani @ a reduced rate of $80 per session.
One ½ day Council with Rashani, held in our beautiful, hand-carved open temple from East Timor.
Enjoy free time each day to visit the Goddess Pele at the National Park (which is 45 minutes away), explore other parts of the island, visit our local beaches, or just stay on the land to hang up a hammock to rest (bring your own hammock, please!), journal and read in the tree-house or temple, practice Shinrin-yoku (forest-bathing), do nothing, and be.
Minimal cell phone use is recommended during the retreat so that you can deepen your connection to yourself and the land. Please bring a pair of tight-fitting gardening gloves, reef-safe sunscreen, natural and organic bug and mosquito repellant, a headlamp, your own solar cell-phone charger (here is one we recommend). Please do not bring any laptops or electrical devices to charge on the land.
Food is not included, and you are responsible for making your own meals. The community kitchen is available for your use, please let us know if you need access to an oven (in addition to stove-top burners) or have other cooking needs.
Transportation is not included. If you would like to be connected with other retreat participants to share a car rental, please let us know.
If you would not like to rent a car and prefer to stay on the land, airport pickups are available for $80 each way and would include a stop at the grocery store.
